Success Starts at Home

The "Success Starts at Home" project started with a brainstorming session about how to help parents learn what to do to assure their child's success in school.  A refrigerator magnet containing eight helpful hints was created and distributed to kindergarten students.  Principals liked the message so much that the magnet design was enlarged and made into signs for each school in English and Spanish to hang in the common areas for everyone to see.  A local businessman, Frank Van Til, took the idea farther by putting the message on a billboard that moved around the city of Hammond for more than 18 months!  (Click on photos for a slide show)
